A year of Cissys Design

Have been very very busy, i know that sounds familiar----------a good reason to give for not writing a Post.

After Diwali, i finally got going on getting a couple of new ideas , but got busy with orders( yes orders with an S),Put up a stall at the Shamrock Festival -St Patricks, with my friend, Arezu as partner (also the cost of the stall got shared-collaboration is good).

Made a trip to Bangalore for a fair organized by Studio Sattva-Christmas Bazaar 2010( I met Devika of Sattva on Facebook), the first time i have gone out of Pune with my designs. That was last week, back home i have another order to complete & send out samples to Mumbai.

Working on Cup Candles-Tomato Red-------------they look good

All my candle accessories have been sourced from rural artisans- Mixing my skills with someone elses is also a good idea, makes business sense & is immensely profitable in all ways.

I also finished a year of starting Cissy's Design, and it has been some journey, so many things happened, ISB-Goldman Sachs, Business Plan, Marketing ,Accounts training, Product development, Pricing,Packaging-------Words that lived in a world different to mine became a part of my existence.

Also the meaning of being called Entrepreneur got clear----------Hard work-----------and then some more hard work.

Friends played an important role-all across the year it was friends who made the year so fruitful.

All in all it has been a GO(O)D Year.

Diwali in mind- Diyas, Lanterns & More

Just as i said before here are a few more ideas, based upon Diwali theme with somewhat innovative use of Printed Paper designs, Beeswax honeycomb prints, handcrafted wax flowers & floral motifs.

The Idea is to make candles more acceptable to a wider audience & particularly now that the festival of lights-Diwali is so near, what better time than this to get my ideas seen.

Couldn't Get good pics this time, but hope you will appreciate the idea

Wedding Candles & some more designs

Been away for quite some time, have been busy & have got a couple of designs to show for it

Hope you like it

Will put up some more designs later,

I have started work on a Diwali theme, should be out with the designs in some time.

Wedding Theme Candles

Beeswax Honeycomb print candles decorated with hand crafted Calla Lily flower & leaves.

Calla Lilly theme continues with this Lantern-T-Lite holder designed in honey comb pattern

Floral Motif themed Lantern-T-lite holder

All these Lit Lantern pictures were shot in the absolute dark- thats where the beauty of this hand crafted lamp lies. these designs should be for those who are into something more ethnic & contemporary.

All these designs are customizable- till the design lends itself well to a Lit wax Lantern, it is important that the design allow the light from the T-Lite to pass thru and around the pattern

Coral Candles-my favouritethis is one design which will always look different, i have a bunch of colors on these lovely corals, will put it up the sometime later

Some of my beeswax & fennel design are already retailing with gift store Shrishti owned by my colleague at ISB Debjani Mukherjee located at Aundh Pune

So things are moving

Till then

Have fun

Just some of the designs that i have made, the photos are not that great, my creations look better when seen on display.

I have been busy with host of things lately so haven't found time to work on my new ideas, but i have a couple of them planned for the holiday season, particularly Diwali & Christmas.

I am sure it will be a treat.
